Welcome to Dotty Dog Training, Dog training and Behaviour in Nottinghamshire.
After working for guide dogs for over 21 years as a Guide dog mobility specialist, training dogs and their owners and owning my own gang of fantastically quirky dogs, I set up Dotty Dog Training, a dog training and behaviour consultancy business. I offer, 1-2-1’s, 1-2-1 puppy courses and courses for adolescents, workshops and behaviour consultations. if you are struggling with a particular aspect of your dogs behaviour that needs a bit more attention, our one to one lessons or packages can help guide you through these behaviours and help you to achieve a positive and realistic outcome. Visits are done in your own home, in and around Nottinghamshire.
My one to one puppy and adolescence school, will guide you through basic training techniques and give you the confidence to help your puppy thrive.
If you would like a fun activity for you and your dog I offer one to one scentwork lessons in your own home.
Our focus is on providing, science based up to date, positive training solutions. I work with each dog as an individual and tailor my services to their needs. I use science based, positive and motivational techniques which include using markers, toys and food to train your dog. I treat your dog with empathy and understanding, without the need for pain or fear.
I am also a kids around dogs professional and can offer courses to help children gain confidence around dogs if they are nervous.
“Alex is a magician, my dog Twix has become the perfect pet since attending the six-week puppy training course.”

“Alex has been training Fern since she was a few months old. We have learned some really great training tips and behaviour lessons and the puppy classes were a great way of socialising the pups with other puppies. Fern is a (reasonably!) well manner pup who can walk to heel, follow basic instructions and also do some tricks - which is great for her mental stimulation. We had a great experience training with Alex ( Dotty Dogs) and will no doubt be back for refreshers as the years progress. Thanks Alex!”
